STRONG VERBS AND WHAT THEY DO
As a creative writer, your use of verbs is very important in carving out the picture you have in mind.
We have majorly, the passive verbs and strong verbs.
A good piece of writing should contain both. However, to create an impression in the mind of your reader, a good use of strong verbs is important.
Strong verbs in creative writing are verbs that bear a meaning to themselves, how? when you hear the verb, “crunch”, it instantly creates the picture of one biting aggressively on a biscuit or something crisp. They paint a vivid picture of an action. The weak counterpart is: eat.
“Eat” could vary, it is generic but strong verbs are specific.
